There are several different categories of fire system
e.g. L1 and L2

  • Hotel requirements would be a minimum of L2
  • Nursing Homes would be L1 (which gives the highest protection of the L categories)

Logic Fire & Security are BAFE certified to Design, Install, Commission, Handover and Maintain fire detection and alarm systems gaining approval in July 2004. We operate a company policy to install only ‘open protocol equipment’.

Most commonly asked questions

Q Does a newly installed fire alarm system need a maintenance contract?

A Yes according to BS5839 Part 1, all fire alarm installations should be maintained in accordance with BS 5839 part 1 by a competent service organisation.

Q What is the life expectancy of my smoke detectors?

A The manufacturers recommend that detectors should operate within design parameters for up to 10 years. Subject to annual maintenance.
